System Benefits

LoMaS® controls distribution dollars.  ERP and other production control systems typically do not provide complete visibility and control to managers responsibile for distribution and product management once the product is produced or changes hands.  LoMaS® offers management the tool it needs to control product from ready-to-ship through delivery.  This includes control through processors, warehouses and all modes of transportation, thus providing management the ability to manage the critical costs of distribution including inventory carrying costs and administrative costs.

LoMaS® enables savings.  Distribution is fully controlled by management decisions in setting program parameters using planning tools.  Savings are achieved throughout the supply chain.  This control and efficiency results in manpower savings as well, allowing the customer to reassign resources to manage the process and deal with expectatons rather than assemble data.

LoMaS® provides total visibility.  With its extensive data capture and report capabilities, LoMaS® provides total visibility to product from the metals supplier / manufacturer, in the processor's facility, to point-of-delivery at the ultimate customer.  Data can be downloaded to spreadsheets should the customer have need for individualized analysis from time-to-time.

LoMaS® provides fixed-cost benefits.  Since LoMaS® is provided on an "ASP" basis, customers access the system over a communication line or the Web from their personal computer. No capital investment for software and hardware, and no dedicated I/T human resources are required.

LoMaS® provides tangible benefits, as well

  • Short time-to-benefit from decision, through implementation to functioning system
  • Increased inventory accuracy and control, with potential for substantial inventory reductions
  • Single source for data
  • Control of transportation costs "outside the gate"
  • Reduced traffic management (exception based)
  • Allows for automatic mill dispatch control by lane, customer, priority, carrier, quantity
  • Single interface to "outside" physical network
    •  Work orders, material releases, ASNs
    • All members of supply chain, and users of data access same database, but with flexibility of method (web, dial-up, direct connect)
  •  Performance statistics by carrier, processor, warehouse, and consumer
