| ADS Logistics Hires Industry Expert to Head Safety Department
Howard Benningfield has joined ADS as director of safety. Benningfield has more than 30 years of experience providing executive-level management and administration for safety and compliance programs for the transportation industry. He comes to ADS from Regal Service Company, where he was general manager, safety. Previous to that he was vice president, safety, and general manager for Bestway Carriers, Inc.
Benningfield was named Safety Director of the Year by the Kentucky Motor Carrier Association in 1995. He is also a Kentucky Colonel, receiving this prestigious award from the governor of Kentucky in 1995 for his contribution as a private citizen to the state for developing the defensive driving program used by the Kentucky State Police department.
Benningfield will be responsible for administrating all DOT and OSHA safety and compliance programs across ADS's North American network of metals distribution facilities and the 500+ truck fleet that ADS manages. He will also be responsible for investigation of cargo exceptions, on-job injury and property damage claims, as well as safety training and employee safety education.
