BROKERAGE

ADS/Area Transportation division acts as a commissioned truck broker, negotiating transportation contracts with customers for loads that will be handled by carriers other than ADS/Area.  Loads can be tendered via fax, phone or on-line at www.e-tranzit.com.  Customers utilizing ADS/Area brokerage services gain the benefits of:

  • Eliminated need for capital investment and related expenses for in-house fleet
  • Eliminated need for management of carrier base
  • Reduced transaction costs when loads tendered via www.e-tranzit.com
  • Brokered carriers are pre-qualified by ADS/Area and have proper brokerage authority
  • Increased "Virtual Carrier Base"
    • ADS/Area has written agreements with 200 plus pre-qualified carriers, representing 8,000 units
    • Most equipment is flatbed, with some van-type equipment
  • Pre-qualified carriers broker on a contractual basis containing legal formalities for
    • employee/employer relationships 
    • transportation law
    • insurance coverage
    • pricing methodology
  • Carriers are pre-qualified on
    • Proper insurances
    • Safety record
    • Equipment types
    • Demonstrated ability to handle steel coils
  • Claims Management

ADS Logistics, LLC and its operating divisions (Area Transportation, Roll & Hold, Integrated Solutions, and Western Intermodal), during the execution of logistics services including storage, provides such services as a warehouseman and all property accepted is subject to the standard contract terms and conditions for merchandise warehousemen, approved and promulgated by the American Warehouseman´s Association, October 1968; revised and promulgated by the International Warehouse Logistics Association, January 1998.  ADS Logistics, LLC claims a lien on all goods in its warehouses for all lawful charges for storage and preservation of the goods; also for all lawful claims for money advanced, interest, insurance, transportation, labor, weighing, coopering and other charges and expenses in relation to such goods or for any amounts owing in relation to other goods whether or not such goods remain in the warehouses.  The property covered by this receipt has not been insured by this company for the benefit of the depositor against fire or any other casualty.
